Inaugural King of Wing cook-off benefitting inclusive Navarre Park

Navarre’s Inaugural Wing-Off competition benefitting The Starfish Project to be held on Saturday, August 18, 11am to 6pm at Navarre Park, 8513 Navarre Pkwy. The Wing-Off presented by Buffalo’s Reef features local teams competing for the coveted “King of Wing” prize for the tastiest hot wings. The Starfish Project fundraiser solely finances special needs playground equipment for the new inclusive Navarre Children’s Park. Tickets are $10 with voting rights to the top three favorites. Tickets can be pre-purchased through Eventbrite on The Starfish Project NWFL Facebook page. Vendor and sponsorship opportunities are available. Come for the wings and enjoy a children’s area, live music, and much more!

“The wing-off is the height of our fundraising efforts. We’re committed to improving the quality of living for Navarre residents, including children with special needs, to enjoy a playground equipped for their abilities,” proclaims Brandi Hook, founding member of The Starfish Project.

Competitors include Chefs from Johnny Huston’s Grille and Bar, The Aragon Cafe, and Girls Do BBQ plus local amateur chefs heating up the competition. Teams and sponsors can still support fundraising efforts with registration deadline July 31, 2018. Teams can show off their cooking skills on-site with the winner earning bragging rights to the first Navarre Wing-Off. Registration fee is $50 with the entire entry contributed to help fund the new inclusive Navarre Children’s Park.
